The Printmaking Center of New Jersey seeks unpaid, credited interns to work in the studios, utilizing skills necessary for printmaking, papermaking and book arts, working closely with Studio Program Manager and Director. In addition, PCNJ also seeks interns to work on administrative tasks related to the day-to-day operations of a small non-profit fine arts organization.
Candidates will assist in coordination and execution of all administration areas, including database entry, design (for website and printed brochures/postcards), education programming, cataloguing artwork for collections and exhibitions, membership newsletters, assist with social media and outreach relationships.
The ideal candidates will possess excellent writing and research skills, experience with Microsoft and Apple applications, including Excel, database systems, and the Adobe Creative Suite. Long-term/multi-semester engagements are possible for the right candidate. Studio use is available for interested candidates.
Possible areas of assistance include studio maintenance and safety upkeep, technical research, equipment installation, exhibitions assistance, as well as assisting artists in the studio and instructors for our various education programs.
The ideal candidates will have a strong interest in printmaking, work well with their hands (and be mechanically inclined), have some studio and art handing experience, and be able to work independently on complex studio projects. Depending on interest/skills, possible assistant teaching opportunities may be available. Long-term/multi-semester engagements possible for the right candidate. Studio use is available for interested candidates.
Candidates must be current college students or recent graduates, available 1-2 days per week for minimum of an entire semester. There may be occasional weekend and/or evening hours. Ideal for Fine Arts, Studio Arts, Art History, Arts Management, Arts Education majors/minors; opportunities available for other disciplines as well. Must provide own transport to/from Center.
