The Printmaking Center of New Jersey is certified as a New Jersey Department of Education Professional Development Provider. These courses are widely attended and lauded by New Jersey art teachers. By providing educators with innovative classes in printmaking, papermaking and book arts we enhance fine art school curriculum throughout the state.
Summer 2015: Professional Development
This intensive workshop will focus on fine-tuning your overall printmaking skills. Learn to create innovative and sophisticated prints using simple, low-tech printmaking techniques. While exploring painterly monotypes, chipboard relief prints, and chine collé, we will perfect registration methods; learn about adhesives, papers and fabrics; and print with and without a press. We will use soy-based inks that clean up with soap and water, instead of toxic solvents. These techniques can be used successfully in K-12 classrooms as well as in professional artist studios: with or without a press. We will also view an amazing collection of contemporary prints for inspiration!
